It is Well with My Soul ( Christian Hymns with Lyrics in Description / Choir )

It is Well with My Soul Christian Music Hymns Songs Lyrics Choir Christian Hymns playlist: www.youtube.com Hillsong Music recorded a version of the hymn after singing a ‘version of the old hymn’ in church. The song was recorded in Sydney in three days, mixed in England overnight and finally mastered in LA. All proceeds from the recording go to help the Queensland Flood Relief Effort. This version of the song features Darlene Zschech singing solo and an added Bridge written by Reuben Morgan and Ben Fielding. This hymn was written after several traumatic events in Spafford’s life. The first was the death of his only son in 1871 at the age of four, shortly followed by the great Chicago Fire which ruined him financially (he had been a successful lawyer). Then in 1873, he had planned to travel to Europe with his family on the SS Ville du Havre, but sent the family ahead while he was delayed on business concerning zoning problems following the Great Chicago Fire. While crossing the Atlantic, the ship sank rapidly after a collision with a sailing ship, the Loch Earn, and all four of Spafford’s daughters died. His wife Anna survived and sent him the now famous telegram, “Saved alone.” Shortly afterwards, as Spafford traveled to meet his grieving wife, he was inspired to write these words as his ship passed near where his daughters had died. Bliss called his tune Ville du Havre, from the name of the stricken vessel. The Spaffords later had three more children, one of whom (a son

What is sung and performed in church services nowadays pales in comparison to this. This is the real thing.

I was saved in a conservative atmosphere. How can I leave the Christian hymns and exchange it with rock praise music. Praise the Lord.

  • Evangeline220  says:

That is totally bogus. If you examined the evidence in a fair unbiased way, you would come to the conclusion that Christ is real. Don’t discourage the young man. One reason I know he is real is because of what he has done and continues to do in my life. When the treatment of choice based on Hinduism almost destroyed me. He has kept me from suicide. And brought me out of the darkest pit of despair by His love and care.

  • Evangeline220  says:

We sing a combination of music much of it contemporary that leads me into a glorious time of worship.

  • Evangeline220  says:

I look back at the OT where music was sung and played by instruments and dancing. These were not outlawed by Christ. Paul made a reference that he would be all things to all people. i sing in the choir of a mega church where excellence both in the music but in our lives outside the church are stressed. Inspite of being disabled, I make every effort to go to rehearsals and when we sing for the church services, but it is an opportunity for me to worship and then lead in worship.

  • stack45ny  says:

I too listen to some contemporary Christian music and agree with your thought regarding “the beat.” However, we are not to lure or persuade folks to church by appealing to their tastes in music or any other worldly desire. We must follow the New Testament pattern, which as the apostle Paul said, is to “preach Christ crucified”(1 Cor 1:23). By God’s grace alone, some will hear and will desire church fellowship. All else is religious commercialism.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts
